We are deeply disturbed to read that students with disabilities were excluded from taking part on a decision of the Ministry of Education.
The basic values \u200b\u200bof sport look to integration, inclusion, solidarity and the sport has the function of breaking down the barriers to physical, mental, cultural. The decision of the Gelmini should be somewhere else and becomes more serious because it is placed within the Student Games, in which sport has an important educational value. Against the background of this choice is a philosophy of discriminatory sad memoria.
E' inaccettabile che l'esclusione degli studenti disabili abbia come giustificazione l'assenza di fondi: l'abbattimento delle barriere non può essere mai oggetto di tagli.
Invitiamo pertanto a rivedere questa vergognosa scelta e far partecipare alle finali ai Giochi Studenteschi gli studenti disabili, si tratta di una questione di civiltĂ .
